How to Root Tecno Camon C8 & Other MT67** Chipset Devices

This post is for all Tecno Camon C8 users. You’ll need
this post now or later in the future depending on your level of needs if there
is no other rooting method available.
I’m not in particularly possession of Tecno Camon C8
so I haven’t test the method I got from XDA Forum on Camon C8 but it work on all
chipset with MT67** running a stock mediaTek recovery.

Note:
This process has been tested on devices with  MT67** chipset and it worked perfectly but it
might soft brick your phone and, as of today, there is no FlashTool flashable
rom that will recover a device from such brick state.

How Can I Root Tecno Camon C8/Other Devices Running MT67** Chipset?

I want to believe at this juncture, you are bold
enough to go on with the process, so carefully follow the guide below

==>Download this zip here or here
==>Copy it to your MicroSD card.
==>Power off the device and turn it on keeping VOL+ and Power until you see
some tiny text.
==>Select the first option (Recovery mode), use VOL+ to navigate and VOL- to
confirm.
==>Once booted to stock recovery select “apply update from sdcard”
using VOL+/- to navigate and POWER to confirm, and select the zip file you
copied to the MicroSD.
==>After the flash has completed you will be back to recovery’s main screen
and just select “reboot system now”.

PS: this zip file should work with any MT67** device running a stock Mediatek
recovery

PPS: DO NOT apply any incremental ota update after flashing the root zip, flash
ONLY flash tool roms when and if they will be available.

    • if you click on Reboot system now, your phone will boot normal… if it doesn't, click on wipe data/factory reset and it will factory reset your phone back to normal.

    • You are in stock recovery. Just use volume rocker to highlight reboot system and then the home key to select it. You apparently had the volume up/down both pressed when you powered down. Booting the phone into stock recovery as it is supposed to when you reboot in that manner. Don't worry nothing is wrong with your phone. It is just doing what you accidentally told it to do.

If this doesn't still work out for you, then you'll need to reinstall the update again to fix this.

  2. It didn't work, when ever I try booting to recovery mode, no small text comes but keeps restarting after the first screen. Then when I release the buttons, an opened android box cones where "hakuna amri" is written bellow it, which means no orders.
